When I was a child we had a dresser drawer full of photos and even more albums. I loved to sit and pour through all those old family photos.

I still love to do that.

So I guess I’ve always loved the feeling a photograph conveys. My parents bought me a camera when I was growing up and I would just snap away at everything. I don’t know how they payed for all that film! Back then my camera was auto-everything. When I was older I bought an SLR camera and finally learned what all those buttons and knobs were for J. As time passed I had a son and, like any mother, I took tons of photos. Except now, for the first time, I was showing them to everyone. To my surprise people started asking me to do the same thing for them. And I did—loving every minute!

I see in my son a sense of wonder and excitement that I think we sometimes lose when we get older. I strive to capture that on a daily basis. I’m not looking for a stiff, posed, “cheese,” look. That’s not who he is. He doesn't just smile --he giggles. He looks like his Dad but he is stubborn like his mother. When he’s older and looks back on the photos in my dresser drawer I hope he can see how much I loved every minute of his growing up.
